A comment on “It’s Not a Tumor!”: Cell Phone Use and Brain Cancer

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Sept. 28 -- ProCon.org, a nonpartisan 501(c)3 nonprofit public charity dedicated to promoting critical thinking, created the new website More ... to explore the core question "Are cell phones safe?"

The site is a great quick resource to get both sides of the issue as well as a quick background.

Although the FCC and many other U.S. government agencies consider cell phones to be safe when used properly, there is an accumulating amount of scientific research showing that cell phone use may cause cancer, disrupt pacemakers, decrease fertility, damage DNA, and increase the risk of traffic accidents. To read the pro and con arguments and the studies concerning this issue please take a look at More ... .

The site is non partisan, contains no advertising, does not require registration, and is produced by ProCon.org a 501 (c)(3) non profit organization.

The current medical malpractice (medmal) system is woefully inefficient with only 39 cents on the dollar going to claimants. Find out more at More ...

A comment on Regulating the Health Care Market

The problem with tort law, is that pharmaceuticals seem to get away with murder. Hundreds of thousands of Americans have been checked into rehabilitation clinics, and thousands have died, at the hands of Oxcontin. The vast majority of these users were *prescribed* the drug at first, quickly became addicted, and watched their life fall apart. Whats worse... our President is peddling a "free meds for all Americans" plan in Congress.

A comment on Coping With Spinal Injuries: A Positive Outlook

You're absolutely right, Sach - life doesn't end for those with paralysis. The late Chris and Dana Reeve (I was fortunate enough to meet the latter) believed strongly in that, which is why they founded the Paralysis Resource Center (I help them with public relations) to really be a resource for those who are struck with paralysis, as well as their families; because so often one just doesn't know where to get help. I hope your readers will check it out; it's got a ton of information, and is accessible in several different languages as well. Thank you for reminding people that paralysis isn't the end of one's life, but the beginning of a new one.
