This past Sunday Morning around 2:15am there was a tragic accident that took place on U.S. 412 west of Alpena in Carrol County. It seems one driver crossed the centerline and hit another driver head on. This late at night, one can't help but wonder if sleepiness was a factor in the wreck. Let's hope not. If we are driving and become too tired, we have a duty to pull over and take a nap or rent a hotel room. I know that is not always an option for some folks, but driving tired is not worth the risk of injury or death.

This wreck near Alpena involved an 18 year old from Searcy, Arkansas who was driving a 2000 Nissan truck and a 51 year old from Green Forest driving a 2004 Chevrolet truck. According to the police, the Nissan crossed the centerline and collided with the Chevrolet. Sadly, Mr. Robby Stoneman who was driving the Nissan was killed in the accident. The other driver, Adela Moran, was airlifted to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. I hope Adela is going to be ok and recover from the injuries. The Arkansas State Police strongly pointed out that Moran was wearing a seatbelt and lived. Stoneman was not wearing a seatbelt. Please, let this incident be a reminder to wear your seatbelts 100% of the time.

This article bsolutely disgusts me!!! This is my brother you are referring to. There is no reason for you to jump to any judgement on what caused the accident!! Also, if you further researched the incident, he was crushed inside the truck, which took the emergency rescue workers about a half hour to cut him out. Wearing a seat belt had nothing to do with his dying nor would it have saved his life. If you want to preach to your readers on wearing a seatbelt, then use an incident that the seatbelt would have made a difference!
