On Friday, December 14, 2007, a six-vehicle wreck on South Eighth Street killed Jerred Dubose, 18, of Springdale and Melinda Yates, 18, of Lowell. Their son,18-month-old Bryson was airlifted to Arkansas Children's Hospital, where he was in critical condition. On Saturday, his condition was upgraded to fair. Three others were injured and taken to local hospitals in the wreck.

Rogers police investigators are still trying to determine what caused the Chevrolet Tracker driven by Timothy Aaron Smith to veer into oncoming traffic and strike five vehicles. A Ford Van driven by Thomas D. Abel, 46, of Springdale and a 1998 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Marlin Hutchins, 48, of Fayetteville were sideswiped by Smith. Smith also sideswiped a Ford pickup driven by Ruben Ortega Calzada, 49, of Rogers. The Tracker then collided head-on with the 2002 Saturn driven by Jerred Dubose before hitting a parked Cox Communications truck.
