The statistics roll on, mind-numbing, relentless; x number killed, xx number seriously injured, wives widowed, children orphaned, lives destroyed. Public outrage waxes and wanes with the day's headlines, as if the problem of underage drinking is any better today than it was yesterday. But lawyers know the truth.

We know every day brings more tragedy. We see the anguish of the victims in our offices. We hear their cries for justice, for someone to do something to make it stop.
Our clients beg us to push the alcohol issue, to get the truth to the jury, but we mumble our callous litany: judges will not let it in, juries will not buy it, it does not make any difference anyway. And so we let the underage age drinkers keep drinking, doing little to stop the devastation of lives and of hopes and, ultimately, of our futures.
It is the proper role of all lawyers who represent victims of underage drinkers to zealously seek compensation for the injured, punishment for those who deserve it, and changes in the law to accomplish these goals.
